Following our October 21 Real Talk Series session, Understanding the College Student Mental Health Landscape, Parent and Family Relations invites families to continue the conversation during Part 2: Supporting Student Well-Being and Success, an interactive panel discussion featuring campus leaders who work directly with students every day.

Student well-being is shaped by many interconnected factors. Academic demands, accessibility needs, personal relationships, life challenges, social connections, and mental health can all influence a student's ability to thrive both inside and outside the classroom. This discussion will help families better understand how these factors are connected and how campus resources work together to support student success.

Panelists include:

  • Daisy Rodriguez, MSW, LCSW, DRCC, Director of Counseling, Health and Wellness Center
  • Nicole Bartolotta, Director of Accessibility Resource Center
  • Theresa Bivaletz, Social Worker for Student Support and Resources and Victim Advocate
  • Dr. Mel Johnson-Norwood, Vice President for Student Development
  • Dr. Amy Ginsberg, Interim Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs

Together, the panel will explore the challenges facing today's college students, the relationship between well-being and academic success, and the many ways students can access support when navigating personal, academic, or life-related concerns.

Families will gain valuable insight into:

  • Factors that can impact student well-being and success
  • Signs that a student may need additional support
  • Campus resources available to help students navigate challenges
  • How families can foster healthy conversations while encouraging independence and self-advocacy
  • The collaborative network of support available across the University

Whether you attended Part 1 or are joining the conversation for the first time, this session will provide practical information and strategies to help you support your student's overall well-being, resilience, and success throughout their college journey.

Registration is required. Families who register will receive the Microsoft Teams meeting information prior to the session.
